The Virtual Library in Workers' Health was developed by the Health and Environment Division (HEP) of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Pan American Center for Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Sciences (CEPIS).

The objectives of the Virtual Library in Workers' Health are to:

• Cover the most essential information on workers' health and to facilitate access to such information.
  
• Provide tools for workers' health
  
• Inform the public about the health situation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
  
• Facilitate communication among professionals working in the area of workers' health.
  
• Defend the "right to know" of communities and professionals through providing free access to education and training materials.
