The BVSDE-Disaster Mitigation, organized by the Pan
American Health Organization through the Area of Sustainable
Development and Environmental Health, is a useful tool
that compiles, stores and organizes documentation, references,
and databases on sustainable development and, in addition,
provides a rapid and efficient access to national, regional
and international sources.
It has been created to respond
to the information needs on sustainable development
and provide support to health professionals, researchers,
educators, decision-makers and others involved.
Strengthen the capability of the
water and sanitation institutions so that they can ensure
that the basic environmental sanitation services continue
working during emergencies and disasters, and also allow
the health sector to formulate related contingency plans.
