About the BVSDE of Native Communities


The BVSDE- Native Communities, organized by the Pan American Health Organization through the Area of Sustainable Development and Environmental Health, is a useful tool that compiles, stores and organizes documentation, references, and databases on sustainable development and, in addition, provides a rapid and efficient access to national, regional and international sources.

This portal provides information, tools, and exchange of knowledge in the area of indigenous health for the Latin America and the Caribbean countries.

It is a product of the Regional Project "Health of Indigenous Peoples: Improving Water and Sanitation in Indigenous Communities”, whose purpose is to contribute to the reduction of risks from water-borne diseases, inadequate sanitation, and poor hygiene habits in the indigenous communities of the Region.
It has been created to respond to the information needs on sustainable development and support health professionals, researchers, educators, decision-makers and other involved with this topic.
